Stella Cameron is the New York Times best selling author and USA Today bestselling, prize-winning author  of more than sixty novels. She is the recipient of the Pacific Northwest Award for Literary Achievement. English by birth but a long time Seattleite, Stella happily trips over the many authors who crawl out from every rock she turns over in the area and wouldn't live anywhere else. (Information obtained from the back of her book, 'Darkness Bound'.)

Description of 'Darkness Bound' by Stella Cameron found on the back of the book:

WHEN NIGHT FALLS

After her husband's tragic death, Leigh Kelly arrives on Whidbey Island determined to start over. Yet the tiny town of Chimney Rock is not as peaceful as it seems. Women have been disappearing, and Leigh can't shake the feeling that she's being watched . . . especially at night. Soon, she's experiencing visions she can't explain and fighting her attraction to a handsome stranger who seems to know her most intimate desires.

PASSION TRANSFORMS THEM

As the leader of the Team, a pack of werehounds forced to hide their very existence, former special ops soldier Niles Latimer is desperate to prove a man's heart beats beneath his predator's body. And Leigh-the mysterious beauty possessing powers she doesn't yet understand-may be the one woman who can help him. But Niles isn't the only one who recognizes Leigh's true identity. Something evil is waiting in the woods-and the hunt has begun . . .

Q&A

Lisarenee: You have written many books. What is the funnest part of writing books with a paranormal edge to them? Is it because you can push the envelope on reality? Is it the world building where your imagination can run amok? Is it something entirely different?

Stella:  The best part is allowing the mind to run free. Who knows (and can swear to) what is possible or impossible? Who writes the rules (and what is their authority?) and where would I find them? Throwing the logical questions away and going where my imagination takes me is thrilling. The only restriction I feel is to remain consistent to my own world, not to conventions others have developed.

Lisarenee: What do you think are the most important things, beyond good chemistry between the main characters, that make a romance novel something special; How do you incorporate that into your novels?

Stella:   Hope. The tantalizing suggestion that love can last and grow and that two people can want to be together throughout their lives. My characters carry the romance. The people they are inside, their minds and their hearts, do all the work. By knowing my characters it isn't hard to make the journey with them.

Lisarenee: Do you have anything else in the works that you can tell us about—tease us with?

Stella:  I'm writing the second book in the Chimney Rock Series. This story delves more deeply into the paranormal world and how it can enrich or complicate the world we know. My heart is moving back to New Orleans, my favorite place, and The Court of Angels Series and I hope to continue those stories or at least to judiciously revisit some of the characters.

Cynthia Garner discovered her love for making up stories when her sixth grade teacher told the class to write a story that began “It was a dark and stormy night…” With that Cynthia's love for all things paranormal was born. When she's not working her day job as a mostly mild-mannered human resources manager, she's on her laptop writing or playing way too much Solitaire. Originally from Northeast Ohio, Cynthia now lives in the desert Southwest. (Information obtained from the back of her current book 'Kiss of the Vampire') For your information, Cynthia also writes erotic romances under the pen name Sherrill Quinn.

Unfortunately I did not receive answers to my questions for unknown reasons. These things do happen. Hopefully, she will be stopping by today to answer any questions you might have. So please feel free to leave a question if you have one.

Descriptions of 'Kiss of the Vampire' by Cynthia Garner found on the back of the book:

Warriors of the Rift

Once a generation, the rift between the paranormal world and the human world opens, allowing supernatural entities to cross. Vampire, demon, or shapeshifter, they can save the world-or send it spiraling into chaos.

Half-demon, half-human, Nix de la Fuente is accepted by neither and mistrusted by both. Determined to prove she's more human than not, she devotes herself to solving crimes between the world's mortals and its most unsavory undead. But her latest case brings her face to face with the one vampire she could never resist . . .
Called in to investigate a string of violent murders, special agent Tobias Caine isn't interested in rekindling his relationship with Nix. Yet one look and the vampire knows his need for her is as strong as ever. Once, their all-consuming passion nearly cost Nix her fragile hold on her humanity. Now, as their hunger for one another intensifies, exposing them to an unimaginable danger, it could cost them both their lives.
