"So what you're telling me, Dally, is that it's time to promote these two heathens."

Ava Sans and Noelle Tremain are best friends. They are also AIR agents in training. Before they can be promoted they need to  complete a mission on their own. The assignment Mia picked was for them to bring in McKell for questioning. McKell, a vampire warrior, is known for being able to stop time, do his damage, then get out before anyone realized what had happened. Mia had previously sent three top-of-the-line agents to apprehend him and all had failed. Sent back missing fingers, brain damaged, and suffering from a loss of blood.

"We were just passing through, saw your fire, and thought we'd stop by and make out with each other."

      His jaw dropped.
     "Wanna watch?"  Noelle added hopefully.
     "Or maybe join?" Ava suggested.
     "Whatever. We're not picky."

"Well?" she prompted, hating the breathlessness of her voice.
     "That's a yes," he rasped.
She almost grinned. Typical male. Little did he know he'd just bought himself a one-way ticket to AIR HQ."

This was a very fun read that had me grinning from ear to ear. McKell, you may recall, is Bride's former fiance. He was kicked out of the vampire underworld for not having killed Bride, his intended, and then lying about it. Still wreaking havoc on vampires living topside, he's searching for a means to be able to tolerate the sun. He's heard rumors, but still hasn't found anyone willing to reveal the secret. Ava and Noelle end up using some rather unorthodox methods to capture the elusive McKell. If you think the above snippet tells the whole story think again. The only predictable thing in this book is that Ava and Noelle will be unpredictable in an outrageous way. Oh, and of course, that there will be a romance.

Meanwhile, AIR is still searching for vampires whose blood may act like Bride's and cure what has come to be called Schon disease, the illness that was brought to Earth by the aliens known as the Schon. Plus, something about McKell and his background will be revealed that adds another dimension to the story. A lot of things going on in this one that you won't want to miss if you're a Alien Huntress fan.

I loved the dynamics of the friendship that Ava and Noelle have. Their silly banter and unpredictability kept me smiling long after I finished reading the book. I found McKell to be a surprising character, because I never would have expected the reserved vamp to have such a fun sense of humor. The word dibs from this book on will forever evoke a grin from me. Once you read the book you'll know why. The chemistry between Ava and McKell is great and I loved the way McKell let his inner Alpha show. Seems the series is slowly shifting to include more romance and a tad less alien action via the AIR cases.

On the Lisarenee Romance Rating Scale, this one gets a SHOWER rating - a cold shower may be necessary after reading this book. Perhaps it should come with a warning - make sure your significant other is handy or your shower is in working order. Need I say more? Overall, I gave it 5 out 5 roses.

Order series should be read:

1)    Awaken Me Darkly
2)    Enslave Me Sweetly
3)    Savor Me Slowly
3.5) Deep Kiss of Winter - Novella within Anthology
