"What if the one you were meant to be with, could never be yours?"

On the first day she arrived at school, Luce felt an instant connection to Daniel. She felt she knew him. That they had met before. She knew that was an absurd thought because someone like Daniel would be hard to forget. Yet she couldn't shake the idea from her head.

As the school year progresses, Luce cannot help but wonder about Daniel. His reaction to her was confusing. He would be cold one minute, and the next she was positive he felt the same connection that she did. For instance, when Cam showed her attention Daniel would get irritated. Her curiosity gets the better of her. She and her friend Penn start looking into Daniel's family history. Between her dreams and the information they uncover she slowly finds out that she and Daniel have indeed met, not once, not twice, but over and over for hundreds of years in a seemingly never ending cycle that will never allow the two to be together. But this time there is hope.

"The only way to survive eternity is to be able to appreciate each moment."

I for one adored this book. I have a lot of questions, but luckily there are two more books to read and, hopefully, they'll be answered in them. I always enjoy reading about star-crossed lovers, and this one definitely does justice to that theme. The story has a dark edge to it which I love. The unraveling effect as Daniel's and Luce's story slowly unfolds is bewitching. I for one got caught up in the weaving of Lauren Kate's tale as the Daniel's and Luce's is revealed. While I did get upset that certain characters that I liked died, I loved it none the less. I gave this one 5 out of 5 roses. Oh, and the song dancing through my head with this one was Hot N Cold by Katy Perry. 'Cause you're hot then you're cold. You're yes then you're no. You're in then you're out. You're up then you're down...'
